The blogs that I enjoy reading the most are personal blogs. I love to view the world through other people’s eyes. I love the conversations which develop through comments. I love to read the words that others choose to share through the blogging medium. Consequently, I would like to do something which celebrates the genre of personal blogging, but to do this I’m going to need a little help from you. I have an idea for a project that I would like to do, but I’m just at the very first steps of information gathering at the moment. So, what I need help with is recommendations for personal blogs. If you have a look down at the links on my blogroll, you will see a number of really excellent personal blogs. What I would like you to do is tell me which blogs I’m missing out on. I’m looking for good writing, with or without photos, but above all I’m looking for original and unique voices. The blogs you suggest could either be your own, those that you subscribe to in feed reader or those that you’ve chosen to include in your own blogroll. Please feel free to suggest more than one! I’ll list all suggestions in an upcoming post, with the ultimate plan being a series of posts on personal blogging.
If I could just ask one more small favour – if you could possibly inform your own readers about my request, it would be very much appreciated. If you do decide to help me out in this way, I’ll write a separate post with links to all those who promoted the request. Also if you stumble, digg, or delicious, please consider submitting this post.

My blogroll has always been a list of blogs I’ve recently discovered. And 95% of them are personal blogs.
I believe life is all about learning and loving. Personal blogs speak to me in a profound way that touches my mind and my heart.
(I’ve always wondered if I offend those bloggers whom I regularly visit by not listing them in a traditional tit for tat blog roll. But, oh well.)
There is a man who blogs in fascinating detail about all things spaceflight related. His underlying story is about raising his young daughter alone since his wife passed away last year. I believe he would like readers who are interested in spaceflight, and also to know he has support in the blogosphere.

YOu have Redneck Mommy on there, so I will pull from my blogrolls…..do you want to limit to women…..do you want a rating? I know some really funny people, but you have to be aware they have adult content….so tell me what you want and we can go from there.
I know personally, I’d love more readers but I also don’t want to lose the personal touch of my blog, so I am going back to trying to find what I want from my blog.

Thank you so much for your suggestion, Hensteeth, I will most certainly follow it up. I, like you, believe there is great value in personal blogging, but I feel that it often gets overlooked by those fixed in their own specialised niche. I just want to do something that celebrates personal blogging and let others see what you and I already do.

Not actually sure what kind the apples are, Claudia, as I just saw them at the market and was drawn to their colour and their arrangement. They do look lovely though, don’t they!

hi Amy. i’ve seen your name in the comment section of Gala’s blog so i thought i’d come and visit. i’m not sure what constitues a ‘personal blog’ but i guess you mean anything that isn’t tied to a specific subject.
you could have a look at my blog, it’s mostly about everyday things like food and photography and things that i’m doing at the moment.
i’m really fascinated by blogs too, and the insight that you can get from reading someone’s blog.
