You know, I can appreciate the aesthetics of spiders: their markings, their intricate webs, their symmetry. But, still, if I see one scuttling across the floor, I can’t help but dissolve into maelstrom of panic, completely incapable of thinking anything, including “Oh, look at those unusual markings!” However, from a safe distance (both temporal and topographical), “Look at those unusual markings!”

I was just about to post an “Only the Good,” and came over for a quick peek. So, I’m going to pretend that’s why you posted this spider! I love the markings on this big girl. Her colors are lovely. And, look at that intricate web she wove! Spiders don’t bother me (except the brown recluse and black widow). However, I’m with you that they are much nicer from a distance.

That’s so strange, Shelly, as I was just in the middle of writing my ‘Only The Good’ post when you posted this comment! About the spider – I must admit that I really struggled to take this photo. I had my camera on macro setting so I would get as much detail as I could. But, of course, I can’t use the zoom with the macro on, so I had to get as close as possible. I was not a happy chicken! I’m pleased with the result now though! I’ll be heading over to your blog to check out your photo directly. Thanks for your thoughts on mine!
