No Butterflies Here

I’ve seen two beautiful photos today on the blogs 4th Avenue Blues and Fotokew, both of butterflies which can still be found in their neck of the woods. No butterflies in our woods, but I did find a frosted oak leaf. Not quite as colourful, but quite beautiful in its own way, I think.

thanks for stopping by my blog! it’s too warm here for decemeber. is that frost?

Yes, Fotokew, it is. As it’s been so cold here, and this patch of leaves had not had any direct sunlight, it was still tinged with frost. In other places the frost had gone and the ground had softened to dark, cloying mud. You can probably imagine the state of our boots by the time we got home!
